What Does Lumics Offer?
Lumics is a deeply powerful network monitoring tool that allows you to monitor devices across a vast network at speeds that are 4 times faster than our competitors. Our monitoring and alerting tools are designed to be simple to use, yet remain in-depth and powerful in their scope, all while getting rid of noisy indicators that aren’t helpful.
Learn more about our in-depth features below:
Widgets
Lumics offers more than 100 widgets that our clients can use to customize their network monitoring experience. These widgets help display statistics and relevant data points in a variety of tables and graphs. This helps visualize a variety of information, including interface errors, internet utilization on your firewall, connections on a virtual IP address, and latency. These widgets can be organized into dashboards that are customizable to device type, location, and more.
Dashboards
Our dashboards function as a collection of widgets that can be customized to display the most relevant data to your enterprise and IT team. Common examples of how these dashboards are organized are as company dashboards, individual device dashboards, executive summary dashboards, and security dashboards. Importantly, all of the widgets in a single dashboards follow the same time frame, determined by the user.
Reports
Our interface allows users to create a report from any widget and dashboard, and then add any widget or dashboard to an existing report later on. These reports can be done manually whenever the user wants, but can also be scheduled to be ran, daily, weekly, monthly, or at any time interval necessary. After being created, these reports can be automatically emailed to you, your team, or any necessary parties.
Events
One of the key features of Lumics is the ability to alert any necessary team members about critical issues that arise within the network. These event alerts can be sent out in a variety of different forms, including text, email, Slack, Splunk, OpsGenie, PagerDuty, and much, much more. Users can set specific thresholds to be notified about, and can get deeply accurate information about when an event starts and when it ends. With Lumics, you can be up-to-date about what is going on with your network infrastructure with accurate information updated every second.
Maps
With Lumics, visualizing your network infrastructure is easy with the 2 types of maps that are available on our interface. The first, geographical maps, allow you to group devices based on the physical location of each device, which gives you important insight on how physical location is affecting network performance. The second, Layer 3 maps, lays out all devices in each subnet, so that you can manage the same subnet in a fast, convenient way.
Syslog
Lumics acts as a syslog collector of all devices in its management. Watch real-time syslog windows, or search syslogs for forensics or details to issues in the past, you can also setup an event or alert based on any syslog entry.
NetFlow
As an add-on license, Lumics offers network monitoring on devices that support NetFlow, allowing users to see top sources, top destinations, top ports, and the number of bytes sent between two hosts.
Configuration Backup
Our base license provides users with configuration backups at no additional cost. Included is the ability to get notifications whenever a configuration change is made, as well as the ability to see past versions of your configurations and compare their performance to existing ones.
IPAM
As part of the base licensing, an IPAM module can be enabled to allow you to manage your IP address space. Subnets can be automatically added from devices that are currently managed by Lumics, or you can add ones on your own. Add descriptions, scan them on a regular basis to see what has been added or “alive” on the network, but finally, you can move off decade old spreadsheets to manage your IP addresses, all at no extra cost. We also do a reverse DNS lookup on any IP address discovered, just to make it a bit easier to identify what those IP addresses are.
Devices
Lumics supports all devices that support SNMP, WMI/WinRM, or an API. If you have a device that supports any of those and we don’t currently support it, then we’ll add it at no extra cost. However, our range of supported devices covers most major manufacturers.
